Tribute paid to Scott Weiland: Died at 43
The US artist Scott Weiland , a previous frontman with stone temple pilots, have been giving a befitting tribute after his death while on a visit in Minnesota.
Cut, with whom Weiland performed in rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, composed on Twitter that it was "a miserable day".
"Tear Scott Weiland," said Dave Kushner, another Velvet Revolver part.
Tom Vitorino, Weiland's director, affirmed the vocalist's demise at 48 years old on Thursday night, saying he had "passed away in his rest".
An announcement on Instagram said Weiland had kicked the bucket "while on a visit stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts".
TMZ reported the artist's body was found on his visit transport outside a motel, close to the venue where the band was because of play.
On-screen character Juliette Lewis was one of the first to pay tribute to the vocalist taking after news of his demise: "Pitiful to catch wind of Scott Weiland passing. He was an once of a kind epic constrain in front of an audience. Contemplations are w[ith] his family," she tweeted.
Rock band Wheatus, best known for the hit single Teenage Dirtbag, tweeted: "We opened for @STPBand in 2000. I watched them side stage and Scott Weiland pulverized me, he was the genuine article. Seeing him transformed me for eternity."
Grammy coordinators the Recording Academy of America hailed Weiland as "a grunge symbol" including his "unprecedented ability and spellbinding exhibitions will always live on and rouse armies of rock fans around the world".
Previous Radio 1, now Beats 1 DJ Zane Lowe tweeted he was "extremely pitiful", including: "such a variety of minutes sent listening to him sing in my earphones."
Aerosmith's Joe Perry likewise lauded Weiland as "such a skilled entertainer", while Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic said he was "truly sorry to learn" the news.
Extra tributes originated from Travis Barker of Blink-182, who said it was "exceptionally tragic news", and Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx, who communicated the trust that "it wasn't medications" that created his end.
